Snowflakes are Winter's Butterflies

 Hi all,

It's the 1st November.....so time for our challenge over at Sparkles Christmas .

This month the theme has been chosen by Sue as:

'Snowflakes.'

This snowflake die was a Johns next door die and the snowflakes dies were Clearly Besotted and Memory box with a freebie backing paper from Simply cards and Papercraft magazine.

So why not get cracking on your Christmas cards and join in with us.

Challenges:

Thank you for popping by to see me,it's been a busy month with my Dad arriving from Scotland for a four days which was lovely, a dental check up and my daughter's 30th birthday - where does the time go!... I also managed to have 2 falls where I jerked and banged my arms so I've been out of action for the last week and a half.. I can be so clumsy but it's amazing how something like that shocks your system.Luckily my friend walked Hunter for me, my Hubby Shamus helped and kept an eye on me and my daughter made us some meals on wheels. Also a couple of friends visited me too which perked me up. I only managed a couple of birthday cards for my daughter and this Christmas card this month. Better than nothing.

Big hugs

Sentiment time

 Hi all,

It's the 1st September.....so time for our challenge over at Sparkles Christmas challenge.

Helen has chosen the theme to be:

'Sentiment as the focus.'

I found a large frame stamp from Clarity stamps with a banner attached and grabbed a sentiment stamp set that was free with a 'Simply cards and Papercraft' magazine, that is where the holly stamps are from too with my Crafter's Companion friend die. More free papers from this magazine too. Can't beat a freebie or two.

I didn't manage to do a card last month as my Dad made a surprise visit down from Scotland then I got a nasty virus that was effecting my balance and causing dizziness and funny headaches. With my mobility not so great anyway I had to be extra careful moving about the house.  Anyway I'm much better thank goodness and pottering in the garden and crafting when I can. I've even been to cinema to see 'It ends with us' a Colleen Hoover book which was fab and a meal out which was lovely for a friend's birthday.

So why not get cracking on your christmas cards and join in with us.

Ornaments for Christmas

 Hello all,

It is the 1st July 2024 and I'm here to share my card for our challenge over at Sparkles Christmas challenge.

Caz has chosen the theme of: A handmade Ornament or ornaments. So I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and found a wooden heart bauble ornament in my stash. I glued the green paper to the wood, stamped a sentiment on it using my Penny Black stamps , filed around the edges and inked them. My trusty die cut bow came out again - I know I'm obsessed... and attached a little house die, a button, twine and some string to hang it up.Job done.

Well it's been a busy old month in the garden again, been trying to get on top of the weeds and getting my plants into the grow bags.. it has been all go. There have been some nice walkies in the sunshine, wind, rain... ha ha. I even managed a couple of trips to the garden centres nearby and went up to my Dad's in Scotland from Thursday 20th to Tuesday 25th. I was last up there in October so a break has been a long time coming. I even tried a aqua aerobics class with a friend, a nice Chinese one night and pottering in the garden trying to do some of the jobs my Dad needed a hand to get on top off. Good food, drink and company gave me a great break away. I came home to see that Shamus had been busy cleaning the car-inside and out, the facsias, guttering and windows and new sealant in the shower room. What a guy.

Hope to see you over at Sparkles Christmas challenge, why not join in with us.

Time to use some dies

 Hello all,

It is the 1st June 2024 and I'm here to share my card for our challenge over at Sparkles Christmas challenge.

Dawn has chosen the theme of: Use Dies.

I managed to use 4 dies on my card, well it would be rude not to - ha ha. The snowflake background is a John next door die, my bow is 'The Greetery' - can't stop using this one..., a Leonie Snow word die and a circle die from my stash.

Hope you're all doing okay, I can't believe it's June already. I've had a fair few rest days this last month as I bent over and managed to pop my rib again - but I'm on the mend at last. I managed to catch up with friends for coffee in Hull and had a little shop as well as lunch out last week. Plenty to potter at in the garden and greenhouse still.
Hope to see you over at Sparkles Christmas challenge, why not join in with us.

Ribbon or twine

 Hello all,

It is the 1st May 2024 and I'm here to share my card for our challenge over at Sparkles Christmas challenge

Billie has chosen the theme of: Add ribbon or twine.

I used my freebie stencil from Simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine and used gold embossing powder to make the words stand out more. The Greetery wreath came in handy again and I had the 2 robins in my papercrafting stash. I seem to use more bakers twine than ribbon these days so it made it's way onto my card.

Please pop over and join in with us as we get ready to prepare ourselves for the next festive season.

I had my Dad here earlier in April so we had a nice 4 days together catching up, a nice meal out with the family and he helped to guide me with my seed planting. Otherwise it's been a steady month of pottering really. It is so nice to feel the temperatures picking up at last and less rain so here's hoping.

Take care everyone and thank you for popping by to see me. Also for your good wishes for Hunter. He is back to his old self and is eating well considering he had a few teeth out.

 Hello all,

It's been a steady month here and it's been lovely to potter in the garden and to think about what I want to grow in the greenhouse. I've got some vegetable seeds and some flower seeds so that'll be my job this week. My dog hunter had some teeth out last week at the PDSA so he's been pretty sad for a few days. He's picking up now thank goodness. I managed to visit a couple of friends in March and even a trip to the cinema to see Dune... with a meal at Ask afterwards yummy.

Hope you've all enjoyed your Easter weekend. Take care.

Can't beat a bit of Plaid/Tartan

 Hello all,

It is the 1st March 2024 and I'm here to share my card for our challenge over at Sparkles Christmas

Debbie chose the theme of: Plaid/Tartan

I looked through my papers and found this tartan paper and had to use my new bow die from 'The Greetery' that I treated myself to with my Christmas money.

So please join in with us as we get ready to prepare ourselves for the next festive season. The teamies have created some beauties to inspire you.

Hope you are all doing well. It's so nice to see all the spring flowers popping up isn't it. We have had a few warm days too. It's been a steady month here just pottering. I've met up with friends a couple of times too which was nice, been pampered at my Daughers' nail salon which I love. also bought some new blinds for the 2 front bedrooms as the vertical ones I had up had mould on them. Husband has treated the problem so fingers crossed. The chest freezer broke too so a new one arrived this week.An expensive month all round but needs must. the freezer we had was my Grandma's so it was a fair age.

Take care and thanks for popping by.

I've been taking it easy this last month after being poorly. It's taken some time to build myself back up. Nice to be back out for walkies. Went out shopping for the first time in 5 weeks with my daughter to Hull. It was time for a splurge in Home Bargains, B&M then a nice Mocha in Costa and a catch up. I'm slowly trying to have a sort out in my craft room/spare room as I am wanting to get some proper storage to make life easier for me and to make the space more usable. ...We'll get there I'm sure.

Take care everyone and thank you for popping by and supporting me.

Winter Time

 Hello all,

I'm here to wish you a Happy New Year dear friends!! I hope you've a special festive season whether you like a quiet one or a full house.

It is the 1st January 2024 and I'm here to share my card for our challenge over at Sparkles Christmas

The theme I chose is: 'Winter Wonderland'

So please join in with us as we get ready to prepare ourselves for the next festive season or cards that are Winter wishes like mine.

I used a few new crafty bits that I've acquired in the last month - Lisa Horton free mistletoe die, Lisa Horton free embossing folder, spiral flower and a few bits from my crafty stash.

Challenges:

It was a quiet Christmas for us as I went down with a cold and a chest infection which affects my asthma. My daughter and boyfriend came here to open pressies in the morning then we were supposed to go for dinner there, then they would come here boxing day but I was too poorly and didn't want to spread it around. so we got a lovely plateful of dinner from them delivered later in the day and we will have a meal together when I am better. Just 1 of those things. I've gone down with a water infection now so the lovely people at 111 prescribed me some antibiotics on Saturday so I will soon be on the mend.

Hope you've all had a lovely time and been spoilt rotten. It's just nice to have quality time together isn't it. My dog Hunter has been walked by my lovely friend Carol so at least he's getting out. I am 1 lucky lady.
Take care everyone and thank you for popping by and supporting me.
