Shabby Chic New Home card

Hi,

Here's a card I made for my daughter Shannen to celebrate here moving into her first place. Saw an idea on Pinterest and it inspired me.All the papers were funky hand, the ribbon was from the ribbon girls, charms from my stash.I added some roses, letters, inked some doilies and used my brick embossing folder inked with distress inks.
Hope you like it.This is my take on shabby chic.

On Thursday I had a busy day of washing, tidying out my craft cupboard and my 12 year old nephew Logan came in theafternoon to craft and spend some time with me before he goes back home to   Scotland. We had a fab time.He made 2 cards. One for his Mum and one for his friend's birthday so

I'll pop them on my blog when he take some pics.He brought some opal fruits whoops... Starbursts for us to snack on.Each wrapper had something on that we had to try,we had such a laugh. One was to balance 5 sweets on top of our heads.....very interesting.

Have a super day whatever you're up to.It's a beautiful sunny day here in Arbroath. Thanks for popping by. With coming away so suddenly I never got my candy posted up so apologies.

Spooky card

It's Saturday so what are you all up to.

I'm laid on the sofa having a good rest as I was feeling a bit yuk. Mind you I did do some ironing and my floors yesterday so my body is probably in shock - HOUSEWORK!!!!! Popped to Tesco this morning to pick up my Simply Cards mag and it wasn't in - very sad..... It was heaving in there too.I only wanted a few bits but offered to get my Mum in law some shopping with her being laid up after her hip operation - now I know the reason I get my shopping delivered - IT'S EASY ... Luckily Shannen came with me to give me a hand, otherwise I would never have managed then we popped up the road to drop them off and to see how she was doing.

Anyway enough of my waffling, here's a spooky card I made a couple of days ago.Hubby helped me by drawing the spiders web with my white sakura pen.I tried to do one with my silver thread but he thought it was rubbish - which it was.The spiders etc are from my Polkadoodles 'sundae of season' cdrom printed and cut out.
I also used my distress ink to colour the base card orange.

Challenges:

Well enough lounging about, teatime.... Bye for now.

Shabby Saturday Wordbook

Morning all,

I'm posting today to show you an older download from funkyhand called shabby-saturday
It's so nice to re-visit an older download as you soon forget how lovely and usable it is.
I decided to make a word book for my Great Auntie Pat who is in a hospice to remind her that we're all thinking about and love her to bits. We had taken some pics while I was in Scotland to record our time with her which I popped inside.

Here is  a pic of this lovely download:You can get it here.

Shabby Saturday

All the funkettes are showcasing this fantastic download so why not pop to the Get funky and craft blog and see what they've all been making. The letters are so easy to cut out out as are the flowers. I decided to get some extra dimension with the flowers by popping one on top of the other.

We'll be showing another download next month so keep your eyes peeled.
Have a super day whatever you're up to.

Funky Sunday!!!

Evening all,

I did mean to post earlier but it's been a busy couple of days.Do you ever have those days where you start turfing out your cupboards but wish you' d never started. That was me yesterday...... Thought I'd get a head start on the packing so bagged a lot of stuff.Got a nice tidy wardrobe now.

Also had the people coming round today who've bought our house so we've been tidying up.it went ok.It's been a miserable weekend but I'm feeling much better since my tumble.

Here's a card I made using the new download funkyhand boys-will-be-boys. It's has a fab array of papers that can be used for other occasions, not just for boys.In this instance I've made a boys card.
I used only the papers. The words were from one of the sheets and so were the arrows.I just cut them out.I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
Challenges:

That's all from me tonight.Hope you've all had a good weekend. Thanks for popping by.Keep an eye out as I'll be posting up some more candy very soon.

Shannen's 19 today!!!

Morning all,

Well today is,my daughter Shannen's 19th birthday, so happy birthday darling. 19 phew! where do the years go? Here's the card I made for her:
I just had to use some pics of her dressed up as one of the pink ladies for a recent hen night. Can't beat lots of hot pink and black too.
Challenges:

Here's a few pics of when she was little - she won't be embarassed of course!!!!!! hee hee!
Still adorable - well she has her moments of course.

I'd like to thank you all for your lovely comments yesterday about my fall etc - bless you all.So kind.Still a little fragile, achey and bruised but I'm getting there. It was a hectic day at home yesterday as my baby girl was moving all her furniture etc into her new home that she's sharing with a friend. They've got a lovely house in the village so she's not far away.Popped to have a peak yesterday afternoon - it was a little chaotic.

Hope you're all ok and having a nice day today, even if it is a little chilly. Thanks for popping by.I am slowly getting around everyone and commenting.

Santa's wash day...

Hi,

I'm here with the midway reminder which is over at Nutcrafters and the theme is:
'SHOW OFF YOUR COLORING SKILLS'
(use a hand colored image).
There are freebies on the blog and prizes on offer. So pop over and join in with us, as well as seeing what the rest of the fabulous teamies have created.
I've used the soon to be released Santa digi stamp - coloured with promarkers and spectrum noirs. I embossed his beard & clothing, added embossed grass mask, added dew drops, freebie papers & die cut marianne designs snowflakes.

Challenges:

Had an eventful few days and not always in a good way.Popped shopping with my daughter on Monday and got a parking ticket as I'd set my disabled badge clock an hour ahead - gutted. Going to try and appeal. Met up for coffee and cake with my M.E group friends which was nice but the parking ticket had upset and stressed me out quite abit.
Yesterday I fell over in my living room and my iron fell on the carpet and singed it - GREAT. Hurt all my left side.Managed to lift the iron up but the damage had already been done - might have to ring the insurance company as I've sold the house and can't leave it in this state....Grrrr.... I am so clumsy - I couldn't get up off the floor so hubby had to rescue me. Upset again. Poor fella got me to the sofa, made me a coffee and told me to rest.
Today can only be a better day I am hoping.

Big hugs Debbie x

Tag time with Funkyhand

Hi all,
It's little ole me with hopefully a nice bit of inspiration using the new Funkyhand craft download of boys will be boys

Well what do you think of the delicious new Bot fire away digital stamp and fab papers????  Aren't they brilliant!!!!!!! They are so bright and usable.

I got the downloads to play with the day before I went away to Scotland, so half an hour before I was due to jump in the car to travel to the train station I was madly printing off a few sheets to play with.

I flung some:
bakers twine,
buttons,
glue, double sided tape,
a ruler, scissors and the sheets in my case and off I went.

To say I had limited supplies was an understatement but I managed to pull a few card and tag designs out of the bag in time for release. The only thing I needed was some colouring pencils which my Mum bought me.Even then I could have shaded them in with a pencil.

So here's my tags:
It just shows how you can produce something out of nothing with good designs and papers which Funkyhand do so well. It's nice to have the die cutting machines etc but it's just as good if you haven't. It makes you use your imagination and some good basic tools.

There is one thing I can't do without though and that's a good paper trimmer. I can't cut in a straight line for toffee - even if I am using a pencil line.I didn't even have a hole punch so I improvised.....

I might try something like this more often just to see what I can come up with. It's good to challenge ourselves once in a while.

Anyway why not have a play with your funkyhand downloads etc and either pop them over here at Get funky and craft, or go on to the Funky Hand Facebook page. We'd love to see what you all get up.So lets spread a little funkyhandness about.

Challenges:

Hope you've had a good weekend.

Big crafty hugs
